Synopsis
The Last Spark
It’s December 22, and Giulia and Easton open their penthouse above Boston to the people who, in a single year, have become family.
Francesco and Stefano fly in from Italy with two suitcases, a duffel Stefano calls “the essentials” and two packs of pizzoccheri, the only truly essential thing. Sam and Kye arrive from San Diego: she with a list of everything that could go wrong, he with the steady hands of someone who needs a moment to walk into a room full of people.
Eight days, a Christmas lunch planned with a chart, an Olympic silver hanging next to a gold that someone simply has to comment on, and an afternoon on the frozen pond of Boston Common that reveals who lives on the ice and who only slides across it.
Everyone brings their place to the table. And someone, finally, stops counting.
The Last Spark is the Christmas novella that brings together the couples of Medals & Kisses: Giulia and Easton, Kye and Sam, Francesco and Stefano.
Contains spoilers for The Last Stone and The Last Pitch: read it after The Last Pitch.
